Conny’s Constants – 17th July, 2019

July 17, 2019

It’s been a few weeks since I’ve last written because I took a break while the children were on school holidays. Since leaving work in 2017, I have made a decision to be fully present when my children are on holidays. They are growing up so very quickly and I don’t want to miss a thing with them. Before long, they will be grown and gone from my home, out into the big wide world to make a name and a life all of their own and I won’t get to spend that kind of valuable time with them again, so I make an effort to do that now, while I still can.

So, we went on lots of day trips. Each day we explored a different place within decent driving distance of our home. We went on walks up mountains, through rainforests, by the ocean, up the river and through the gardens. We spent a day shopping, some time at a library, and we had only one entire day at home before it was time for them to all head back to school again. And I have to say, it was one of my favourite school holidays with my children. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time in nature with them.

Next school holidays, I challenge you to do the same. Make a plan and spend some time exploring the beautiful sights around your home, in nature with your children or family and friends. I promise you will feel all the more better for it.
