I’ve been listening to a few podcasts recently, which is unusual for me, but since I’ve been doing a bit of driving in the car by myself, I’ve decided that a podcast seems like a good way to spend that time.
Funny thing is, today, the ones I listened to turned out to actually be confirmations on things that I had already been thinking on and feeling motivated to change and surprisingly, they were just what I needed to give me the correct tools to help me understand how to proceed.
I love when God does that! How He causes all the threads of our thoughts and ideas to mesh together in conversations with others, then the sermons we hear or the songs we listen to and then the podcasts and books we read. And those threads entwine together to become a beautiful tapestry that furnish a space in the masterpiece that is our life.
This time, it was on time management and energy management with regards to how you schedule your time, your days, your weeks, etc.
I had been talking with my friend just last week about needing to change my daily routine and schedule because it wasn’t working for me – it actually felt like I was working to it, almost being enslaved to it, and that didn’t seem right to me. I felt like I wasn’t getting everything done that I needed and wanted to in the few hours I had to myself before the kids came home and I was back on Mum duty again.
And then of course, the guilt creeps in. You know what I mean right? That nasty pressure sitting in the back of your mind telling you that you didn’t do all the things you said you would and didn’t get everything done that you needed to and that you’re letting people done, and you’re not good enough and blah, blah, blah.
Well, I decided today that enough is enough. I have all the tools I need to make this thing called life work. God has given me all the gifts and talents that I need to be organised, to thrive and live a life of wholeness. Today’s podcast reminded me of that again and so, instead of being a guilty failure, I’m going to get in and try some new ideas and see what works for me.
Who knows, I may even write about my findings and let you in on all the things I’ve learnt too. What do you think about that?
