Rueben’s Reflections – WCC 2019

November 15, 2019

This year’s Hillsong Worship and Creative Conference changed my perspective on how I look at creative people. It had me in tears every time we worshipped and prayed. I really like the sound of people that have good voices singing and praying together.

Cass Langton, the Hillsong Creative Pastor, and a majority of the creative team from Hillsong, wrote prayers for everyone in the room at this conference.

The letter that I got was by Cass: “May God meet you this week. May this space be Holy ground. May you stand amazed at what He is capable of. May you feel seen!!

This letter became the prayer that was the centre of my experience for the week. It was powerful, and through the course of the week, it became my reality.

I want to inspire you to have a prayer each week and live by that prayer for that week. Having a weekly prayer can help you in multiple ways. It can help you keep your focus on Him.

I wake up on a Monday with a prayer in my heart, that I consistently pray for that week. I keep this prayer in my heart and watch it come to reality during the week. Prayers like this can change another person’s life.

During a recent conversation with one of the guys in my class, I was talking to him about going to church. The next day, he comes in and tells me that another friend of his asked him to come to church for the first time. That news almost brought tears to my eyes, because every day I would ask him, how’s it going? What have you been doing on the weekends? And this time, I asked him that, and he said “I went to church for the first time this Sunday”.

That week my prayer was to see someone that had never been to church, go to church for the first time.

Let me encourage you to set a prayer for the week, each week. Just keep praying that prayer until you see a result.

Praying the same prayer each day of the week, will help your relationship with Him grow healthier and stronger.

Lastly, don’t forget to pray at least once a day! It’ll do you good.
