The ‘You Are’… Blog Series:

(Previously Published on Mrs Words Blog)

Today, I am launching my new blog series called ‘You Are…’

As a lover of words, and a lover of God and people, I’ve been really contemplating how I can bring these three things together. So, I’ve finally got some clear direction and now I’m so keen to run with it and share it with you.

‘You Are…’ is all about speaking life into people.

Each time, I want to highlight and unpack one word that encourages. I will explore the words meaning, it’s origin and then look to the Bible for some relevant scriptures for application.

I hope to also expand the word with some personalisation, then give some practical examples of that particular word in action and finally, give some tips and challenges for personal application.

The ‘You Are…’ term is used simply as an encouragement reflecting on the gold that is already in you, highlighting the many unique facets that make you you.

It’s a gentle reminder of who you are, even when you don’t see it inside yourself. It’s a roaring statement of who God has created you to be.

Even if you believe you are not ‘gifted’ or talented in that particular gift, I want to remind you that it’s in you and you can develop it and use it to bless and encourage others.

My ultimate goal for each post is to bring encouragement and affirmation, and to challenge negative thinking.

‘Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit – you choose.

Proverbs 18:21 (The Message)

As seen in the above scripture, the Bible tells us that the tongue has the power of life and death. I don’t know about you, but I want to be one who brings life and encouragement to others.

There are enough people pulling us down, tearing us apart and discouraging us. I want to use my God-given skills and talents to go against the tide of the world that surrounds us and uplift, build-up and empower.

I believe it’s so powerful to speak life into ourselves and others and that is what I hope to do throughout this series.

Hope you enjoy and feel encouraged!

Please feel free to share with others and leave comments.
